Gender Equity and Nontraditional Careers

Welcome to the Illinois Office of Educational Services Gender Equity Resource Center. This site provides information on gender equity and nontraditional resources, materials, activities, lesson plans, videotapes, curriculum, and Internet links.

The major activity of this project is the development of the Climbing the Ladder to Nontraditional Careers and Gender Equity Toolkit which includes a toolkit of resources for teachers and administrators; Learning Activities/Resources ; and a bibliography of Additional Internet Resources to assist local schools provide gender neutral experiences for all students.

Funded by the Illinois State Board of Education, the Gender Equity Resource Center assists students, educators, parents, and interested citizens in learning more about gender equity resources, programs, and activities. We encourage you to explore all of our resources (using gender equity or nontraditional as keyword) or to contact the "Gender Equity & Nontraditional" department with your questions.
